Small step

Hey guys,

The next step I've chosen for my life is to take the french E.A.T dance exam. It's the first part of the examination you need to take if you want to be a dance teacher in France (except for hip hop dance teachers, they need no diploma at all). It's the technical part, the other one is the theorical part. I don't really want to be a teacher but:

  • this is an excellent exercise to improve my dance, to take me higher during the first two months of the year
  • this diploma will increase my credibility when I propose dance projects
  • why not teaching to earn some money if I need some!
Even if I'm doing a lot of ballet and hip hop, I've chosen the jazz option because I think it's the discipline I'm better at. I've begun today to look precisely at what I will have to do to take the exam: I'll have a set variation, a free one and an improvisation part, all this must include "technical movements".

  • First problem: WHAT'S IS TECHNICAL MOVEMENTS?
SOLVED
I've just have a look at this very useful and inspirationnal webpage: http://www.offjazz.com/term-jazz.htm . Of course, I perfectly know how to realise most of this steps but I just don't kn ow their names....time ti learn and I wiil be a real professionnal!

  • Second problem: WHERE CAN I PRACTICE?
I've book a training session for the set variation but, even tough, I need to rehearse the free one....
